In February 1902, the Midwestern Railway Company reported positive growth in Limerick’s hotel industry, with one hotel generating an annual revenue of £500 and another earning £360. In addition to these profits, both establishments maintained strong account balances. The overseeing committee attested that they are receiving at least a 3% return on all investments made. Furthermore, the report cited a significant increase in the fish trade in the region. The thriving Limerick hotel industry and boosted fish trade can be attributed to the businesses’ adaptability and effectiveness in catering to the needs of their customers and the local economy.
