Following the tradition established the previous year, Her Majesty the Queen has ordered a consignment of shamrocks from Lady Limerick for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day. The Queen will send a bunch of the shamrocks to each soldier in the Irish Guards. Due to the success of the distribution last year, an organization called Lady Limerick’s Shamrock League has been formed. The proceeds from the league will be devoted to supporting the wives and children of deceased or disabled Irish soldiers. Tons of shamrocks will be picked this year to be sent to various parts of the world, providing employment for many Irish peasants.
