During a meeting of local Pressmen held in relation to the resignation of Mr S.J. Bradley, a member of the reporting staff of the Limerick Chronicle, a resolution was passed expressing regret at Mr Bradley’s retirement from local journalism, with which he had been associated for a long time in Limerick. The resolution also extended best wishes for his success and happiness in any new endeavours he undertakes. It is understood that a group of friends and well-wishers have organized a suitable presentation to honour Mr Bradley’s public services and as a token of their regard.
In connection with this presentation, the following circular is being issued:
“Dear Sir,
The friends of Mr S.J. Bradley are eager to express their appreciation on the occasion of his departure from Limerick and his departure from the Limerick Press. Mr Bradley has been involved in press life in Limerick for the past sixteen years, having served on the reporting staff of the Limerick Chronicle during that time. His long-standing public service, his integrity as a Pressman, and his trustworthy and dedicated conduct deserve recognition.
In light of this, his friends are interested in organizing a suitable and meaningful presentation, and they would like to invite you to participate in this commendable project. Subscriptions can be sent to the following individuals: James Finn, Esq., High Sheriff, and J.F. Barry, Esq., ex-Mayor, honourary treasurers; Philip J. O’Sullivan, Esq., solicitor, and W.S. Burke, Esq., honourary secretaries.”
At a general meeting of the Typographical Association, the following resolution was unanimously passed:
“We regret the departure of Mr Bradley from his connection with the Limerick Press, as we always found him to be most courteous. We extend our best wishes for his future success.”
