The Limerick County Board has released a set of guidelines for clubs participating in championships. It is mandatory for all clubs to pay their affiliation fees, amounting to 12 shillings, by June 1st each year. The affiliation fees include entry into the championships. During the affiliation process, clubs must provide a list of their members and designate their representatives on the board for the year.
Members of the board will receive a copy of the Rules and Bye-laws and will be considered the only qualified individuals to referee matches. Any clubs found to be in violation of the Rules or Bye-laws will face a three-month suspension and forfeit their rights in the ongoing competition.
In the case that a club is unable to travel and participate in their scheduled matches, they must provide proper notice to the Secretary of the County Board as well as their opponents. Failure to adhere to this rule, except in the event of a death, will result in suspension.
On the field, the referee’s decisions are final, and no appeal can be made against a referee’s decision on matters of fact related to a match. The county will be divided into four districts for championships and other competitions, each district is overseen by a committee of five members appointed by the County Board. These committees will have control over fixtures and the appointment of referees, subject to the County Board’s oversight. The divisions are as follows:
- East Limerick, meeting place: Hospital
- South Limerick, meeting place: Kilmallock
- West Limerick, meeting place: Newcastle West
- North Limerick, meeting place: Limerick
The winners in each division of the championships will receive prizes determined by the County Board. The county champions will be awarded gold medals, and all prizes must be of Irish manufacture.
Members of the Munster and Central Councils will receive travel expenses as follows: £1 to Dublin, £2 8s to Cork, 7s 6d to Thurles, and 5s to Tipperary. Referees will also receive expenses.
These guidelines are set forth to ensure fair and organized championships for all participating clubs in Limerick County.
