The annual Limerick Regatta, scheduled for tomorrow, promises to be a thrilling event judging by the impressive number of entries. Almost every club in the metropolis will be participating, and crews from Cork and Waterford will also be present, competing fiercely for their respective cities. The Shannon River provides an ideal setting for the regatta, and the construction of the Grand Stand at the Docks ensures that spectators can enjoy the races along the entire river course, from Tervoe to the finishing point.
The decision to locate the stand at the Docks was a wise one by the committee, considering the crowded conditions at Russell’s Quay during previous regattas. The arrangements at the Dock pier offer a spacious promenade, which will be particularly appreciated in the current sweltering weather. With favourable weather conditions, tomorrow’s regatta is expected to be one of the finest ever held in Limerick.
