Tragic Accident Claims Life of Irish-American Visitor

A tragic accident has claimed the life of Mr T. M’Auley, an Irish-American who had recently arrived in Queenstown. Mr M’Auley, who is the brother of Mr Joseph M’Auley, B.L., and Dr M’Auley of Dublin, had embarked on a journey to Ireland.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a stop at Limerick Junction while Mr M’Auley was en route to Dublin. He had briefly entered the refreshment room but, in a sudden rush to rejoin the train as it was departing, he lost his footing. Tragically, he slipped under the wheels of the moving train, and both of his legs were run over.

Although immediate medical attention was provided, Mr M’Auley’s injuries proved fatal, and he passed away shortly thereafter. This deeply unfortunate accident serves as a reminder of the unforeseen risks that can accompany even routine travel.
