AMONG THOSE PRESENT WERE THE FENIAN JOHN DALY, HIS SISTER-IN-LAW CATHERINE AND HER ELEVEN CHILDREN. AMONG THE LATTER WERE MADGE AND KATHLEEN, WHO HELD STRONG REPUBLICAN VIEWS AND WERE FOUNDER MEMBERS OF AND DOMINANT FORCES IN CUMANN NA MBAN IN LIMERICK CITY. IN ADDITION, BOTH WOMEN ESTABLISHED BUSINESSES TO EMPLOY LOCAL WOMEN AND WERE ACTIVE THROUGHOUT THE REVOLUTIONARY PERIOD.
