The efforts of the Urban Council and the deputation that met with the Duke of Connacht have yielded positive results in regard to the rebuilding of the rifle range. The military authorities have taken note of the concerns raised, leading to significant developments. It has been confirmed that the rifle range at Rallyunlea, near Tralee, is currently undergoing reconstruction.
As part of the upgrades, two old targets have been replaced with two new paper targets, enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of musketry practice. This improvement is expected to attract troops from Limerick and Buttevant to utilize the range for their training needs. Consequently, the presence of approximately 200 additional men in Tralee barracks is anticipated during the summer months.
These developments signify a commitment to maintaining a well-equipped and efficient rifle range, ensuring that military personnel receive optimal training opportunities in the area.
