
The Waterford Feis, held on Sunday, showcased the remarkable talents of participants from the Limerick Pipers’ Club. Mr William, a member of the club, received high praise for his performance in the contest’s selections. Additionally, Mr Thomas Keane, also from the same club, achieved great success in the Irish Hornpipe competition.
Miss May O’Brien, representing Limerick, emerged victorious in the Irish Hornpipe category for ladies, showcasing her exceptional skills. In the Jig (couples) section, M. Gribbon and M. Pipers’ Club from Limerick secured the first prize, demonstrating their mastery of the dance form. In the reel (couples) category, M. Burke and O. Lirien from Limerick claimed the top spot, showcasing their talent and precision. Furthermore, Missie Harte and Thomas Keane, also from Limerick, excelled in the Four Hand Reel (Class A), earning the first position.
The Reel (single) category for ladies saw Miss May O’Brien from Limerick emerge as the winner, impressing the judges with her skilful performance. In the “reclined jig” category, William Keane from the Brian Boru Ulster achieved the second award, while Mr Gribbon from the Limerick Pipers’ Club secured the same position.
In the junior couples’ jig competition, M. McDonnell and W. Storan from Limerick showcased their talent and clinched the top position. Similarly, in the reel category for competitors of the same age group, Miss M. Covell and W. Storan Jr. from Limerick secured second place, exhibiting their remarkable abilities.
The Limerick Pipers’ Club made a significant impact at the Waterford Feis, with its members achieving success across various dance categories.
