Drapers’ Club Excursion to Kilkee – A Delightful Outing

The Drapers’ Club organized a highly enjoyable excursion to Kilkee on Sunday, with participants boarding the SS Shannon for a memorable trip. The steamer was filled with passengers, including a significant number of ladies, eager to embark on the adventure. The journey to Kilrush was smooth, accompanied by delightful weather, and the boat reached Cappa pier just before one o’clock, followed by the arrival at Kilkee at two.

The return journey commenced at six o’clock from Kilkee, and the boat safely returned to Limerick around half-past ten. Throughout the journey back, the members of the club entertained everyone with their vocal performances, prompting frequent responses from Mr J. F. Barry, Sr. The atmosphere was further enlivened by dancing parties, adding to the overall enjoyment of the excursion. It was a resounding success and a pleasurable outing for all.

The Excursion Committee of the Drapers’ Club deserves commendation for their exceptional organization and planning of the event. Special recognition was given to Mr M. Moloney, the Secretary to the Committee, for his dedicated efforts in making the arrangements a success.

The trip to Kilkee provided a delightful escape for the members of the Drapers’ Club, creating lasting memories and strengthening the bonds of camaraderie among the participants.
