
On Saturday evening, the newly-formed Limerick Journalists’ Association celebrated its inaugural dinner at Mr Fitzpatrick’s Restaurant on William Street. The event was presided over by the President, Mr W. Reeves, B.A., who highlighted the importance of the association and its role in safeguarding the interests of press professionals in Limerick and the surrounding area.
Throughout the evening, attendees were treated to brief speeches by Mr J. H. Wright, Mr J. A. Baldwin, Mr W. S. Burke, Mr C. O’Sullivan, and others. These speeches were interspersed with delightful songs performed by the Chairman and Mr Cashin, Mr Burke, Mr Lalor, Mr Barrett, Mr O’Connell, and Mr Peacooke. Additionally, Mr Wright captivated the audience with his engaging recitations, both serious and humorous. The evening concluded on a high note with a rendition of the beloved song “Auld Lang Syne,” leaving everyone in attendance with fond memories of a truly enjoyable gathering.
