Today, a special meeting of the Limerick No.1 District Council was held under the chairmanship of Mr T Lune. During the meeting, Mr J Ryan of Knockataun proposed, and Mr J Cahill of Cahirconlish seconded, a resolution that was unanimously adopted by the council.
The resolution pertains to the recent decision by the Council of Agriculture to establish local schools or stations aimed at providing agricultural training and general instruction in each county. In light of this development, the Limerick No.1 District Council believes that the Cahirconlish House and Demesne would be an ideal location to serve as the County Limerick Station for this purpose.
With the collective agreement of the council, the Chairman has been entrusted with the responsibility of presenting this proposition to the relevant Department. Furthermore, the Chairman is encouraged to make every effort to convince the Agricultural Board to consider taking over the Cahirconlish property to establish the much-needed agricultural training centre for the benefit of the community.
