On Saturday, the Local Government Board issued their decision to the Limerick No 1 Council, standing firm on their refusal to waive the surcharge of £37 16s that had been levied against specific members of the Council. This surcharge was imposed due to their participation in a payment that was later deemed illegal. As a consequence of the Board’s ruling, the concerned Council members were obliged to adhere to the decision and fulfill the payment of the specified surcharge.
