MISSING VESSEL REPORT UNFOUNDED

Lloyd’s Agency previously reported that the steamer “Eskasoni,” bound for Limerick from Portland, Oregon, with a cargo of wheat, had gone missing. On February 19th, the vessel was signaled from Lloyd’s station on the Scilly Isles, responding that all was well. However, no news about its whereabouts was received since then. The vessel had a crew of thirty hands and had been at sea for five months.

However, inquiries from our representative at Lloyd’s agent in Limerick reveal that the fears regarding the safety of the “Eskasoni” were unfounded. The vessel in question was not the “Eskasoni” signaled on February 10th at Scilly. In fact, the “Eskasoni” arrived quite safely on Friday and is expected to reach Limerick port in the coming days.
