THE BUILDING TRADE IN LIMERICK: HARMONIOUS AGREEMENT BETWEEN MASTERS AND MEN

In a welcome display of cooperation and mutual understanding, a conference was held between the master builders and the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners in Limerick. The outcome of the meeting was highly positive, as both parties reached a common line of agreement, setting the stage for a harmonious working relationship.

The conference, which took place at Cruise’s Hotel on Monday evening, saw a demonstration of common sense prevailing, leading to a very satisfactory settlement that was achieved in a spirit of give and take. At the conclusion of the conference, Mr George Ryan, representing the master builders, expressed his gratitude, proposing a motion to extend thanks to the esteemed High Sheriff, Mr James Flynn. The High Sheriff had generously provided the use of his hotel for the conference, facilitating the dialogue between the parties. Mr Ww Creagh, on behalf of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, seconded the motion with enthusiasm.

The motion of thanks was passed unanimously, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill that permeated the entire conference. The employers and workers departed from the meeting on the most friendly terms, setting a positive precedent for future interactions within the building trade in Limerick.
