CITY BELL-RINGERS DELIGHT PARISHIONERS DURING ANNUAL HOLIDAY

Limerick’s Mount St Alphonsus Church bell-ringers celebrated their annual holiday with a delightful excursion last Sunday. The group embarked on a car journey to the picturesque town of Emly, where the parish is currently graced by the presence of Reverend Father John Creagh, CSSR, who is leading a three-week mission as the Spiritual Conductor of the esteemed Limerick Arch-Confraternity.

The mission in Emly holds special significance as it coincides with the silver jubilee commemorating the laying of the foundation stone of Emly Parochial Church, a historic ceremony that took place twenty-five years ago and was attended by prominent figures, including the Mayor and members of the Limerick Corporation.

The visit of the talented bell-ringers from Mount St Alphonsus Church turned out to be an extraordinary treat for the parishioners of Emly. Their mesmerizing hand-bell performance in the Church and the surrounding grounds garnered enthusiastic applause from the appreciative audience.

The Very Reverend Canon Power, the beloved Pastor of the parish, extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the parishioners for the thoughtful visit of the bell-ringers and the enchanting musical treat they provided. Canon Power warmly acknowledged their kind forethought in visiting the parish and acknowledged the special bond shared between the communities.

Following the memorable performance, the bell-ringers were warmly invited and hospitably entertained at the parochial house by Canon Power, making the day one filled with joy, music, and heartfelt camaraderie.

The annual holiday excursion brought joy and unity among the communities, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and mutual respect that enriches the bond between Mount St Alphonsus Church and Emly parish.
