All entries for ordinary civil cases, such as disputes, elections, divorces, and other related matters, to be heard at the Crown and Peace Office, County Court House, Limerick, must be submitted before 4 o’clock PM, at least two clear days before the commencement of the Sessions in each town. Please note that these two clear days should not include Sundays, Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day and the day after St. Stephen’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Whit Monday, and the King’s Birthday.
Entries can be delivered either by hand or through the post. Requisitions for the entry of cases (Form No. 23) should be accompanied by the appropriate stamps for the Clerk of Crown and Peace’s fees and handed in with Form No. 22. It is essential that entries for cases and defences are separate and free from alterations. Entries submitted after the specified deadline will not be accepted.
For those lodging Notices to fix Fair Rents with the Clerk of the Crown and Peace, it is mandatory to provide three copies of the Notice so that the Court Valuer may receive one for reference.
APPEALS TO ASSIZES
In the case of appeals to Assizes, parties must serve notices of appeal and also submit an affidavit of service along with a stamped requisition from the County Court (Form No. 2). This must be done immediately after the service of the notice of appeal, ensuring the Clerk of the Crown and Peace can include the appeals in the printed list of appeals. Timely compliance with these requirements is crucial for the proper handling of appeals.
