PUBLIC NOTICE: APPOINTMENT OF CITY TREASURER

The County Borough Council of Limerick hereby announces that a special meeting will be held on Thursday, the 5th day of October next, to appoint a suitable candidate to the position of City Treasurer. The successful applicant will be offered a salary of £250 per year.

Candidates must undergo an examination in the Irish language and Irish history, adhering to the standards set by the Council on the 7th of September. The examiner will be appointed by the Council. Should any candidate fail to pass this examination, a new election will be conducted.

The appointed City Treasurer must provide the security of a recognized guarantee society, amounting to £2,000. Alternatively, two personal sureties, each amounting to £1,000, will be accepted, pending approval. The names of the sureties must be indicated in the application of each candidate.

It is essential for the City Treasurer to dedicate their full attention to the duties of the office. Applications, accompanied by testimonials, must be submitted to the undersigned no later than 4 o’clock in the afternoon of the mentioned date. The envelope should be clearly marked “City Treasurer.”

Candidates are required to be present at the time of the election, which will take place at 7.30 o’clock p.m. on the 5th of October, 1905.
