A peculiar incident occurred as Patrick Harnett journeyed back from the Newcastle West, Limerick, August fair. Seizing what he thought was a brilliant idea, he decided to ride his employer’s bull all the way home. However, his adventure took an unexpected turn when the bull expressed its strong objection to the unconventional ride, tossing Patrick off and causing him to land on the gravelled highway.
The unfortunate mishap resulted in serious injuries to Patrick’s right temple, prompting the need for immediate medical attention. He was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. The incident highlights the importance of handling animals with care and caution, reminding us that even the most seemingly harmless actions can have unforeseen consequences.
