Attention car owners! The County Borough Council of Limerick has made an important decision regarding the registration and licensing of country cars, including “long cars” and “side cars,” for hire to and from the city to the Races at Green Park, and vice versa.
Starting immediately, any owners or drivers of country cars that have not been registered with and licensed by the Council will not be permitted to offer their services for hire in this route.
However, fret not, as the Limerick Hackney Car Owners Society has stepped up to ensure that public transportation remains accessible. They have guaranteed the provision of at least three “long cars” available for the convenience of the public. The fare for this service will be Sixpence per head for the journey from the City to Green Park and vice versa.
For those opting for “side cars,” the fare will be fixed at Is per head each way.
This measure aims to maintain order and ensure the smooth functioning of transportation services for the public during the upcoming events at Green Park.
By order of the County Borough Council of Limerick,
WM M NOLAN, Town Clerk.
