“M. O’R.” Ascends to Rectorship in Rome Amid Literary Praise

LIMERICK—The journey from a working curate in an Irish town to the esteemed Rectorship of the Irish College at Rome is no small feat, and the accomplished “M. O’R.” has achieved this remarkable progression. The recent private audience with His Holiness the Pope stands as a testament to “M. O’R.’s” stature. The observant Simply Deplorable has taken note of these accomplishments and more.

A highlight in “M. O’R.’s” journey is the publication of the notable book “Catholicity and Progress in Ireland,” a work that has garnered substantial recognition. Despite initial lack of acknowledgment from the nimble Pastor:al Kopje climber of Prince’s Street, the publication’s second edition is nearly sold out, and preparations for a third edition are underway. It is noteworthy that this achievement was attained in a mere five months.

The Simply Deplorable, after a long period of silence, has broken its silence to review the book “Catholicity and Progress in Ireland.” Its recent review indicates a shift in attitude and approach. The Freman, while acknowledging that the articles forming the book were being published, points out the intriguing timing of their publication during the preparation of the second edition of “Ireland in the New Century,” another work by the same author. The Freman cites the author’s decision to abstain from responding to the “destructive, if temperate, criticism” by the writer of the articles.
