Limerick’s New Justice Of The Peace

A recent development in Limerick involves the appointment of a new Justice of the Peace (J.P.). This decision was made following the recommendation of the Earl of Dunraven, who holds the position of H.M. Lieutenant and Custos Rotulorum. The individual chosen to take on this role is William M. Nolan, who resides at Rathkeale House in Limerick. Mr Nolan boasts an impressive resume, having occupied various esteemed positions such as Mayor and High Sheriff. Notably, he has also dedicated approximately ten years to the role of Town Clerk in Limerick.

Furthermore, Mr Nolan’s influence extends beyond local affairs. He has assumed diplomatic responsibilities, serving as the Belgian Consul, as well as the Vice-Consul for both the Netherlands and the Ottoman Empire. Importantly, his diplomatic reach spans not only his own county but also the neighboring regions of Clare and Tipperary.
