The examination for the role of curator at the Limerick Free Library was conducted today at the Technical Schools. Among the four candidates chosen by the committee, three attended the examination: Mr Thomas Stephens, Mr James McNamara, and Mr F.P. Faby. However, the fourth candidate, Mr O’Nolan from Mount Mellary College, did not appear for the examination.
The panel of examiners included Rev. James Dowd, B.A., along with Mr James Frost, P.J. Lynch, and Mr Joyat from Dublin. Mr Joyat was responsible for setting the paper in the Irish language as part of the examination process.
This examination marks a significant step in the selection of the next curator for the Limerick Free Library, a crucial role in the community’s educational and cultural resources.
