The Mayor was pleasantly surprised when he received a telegram from Adare, extending an invitation from their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Aberdeen, to meet them at the Limerick Terminus. The telegram expressed a desire for a brief meeting with the Mayoress as well.
The Reception:
In a spirit of graciousness, Mayor Alderman Joyce and the Mayoress made their way to the Limerick Terminus to welcome the Vice-Regal party upon their arrival. The occasion was marked by an informal reception.
