Temperance Initiative Proposed in Limerick

In a recent session of the Limerick Guardians, a circular was presented, urging members to participate in a meeting at the Village Hall, Beddings, on the 8th of the month at 3:30 p.m. The purpose of this gathering was to establish an association dedicated to providing early breakfasts at fairs and advancing temperance initiatives. The circular conveyed that a preliminary meeting, presided over by the Most Rev. Dr O’Dwyer, had already taken place, and he had graciously agreed to serve as the patron of the proposed association.

The decision was unanimous among the members that they would attend this forthcoming meeting to contribute to the formation of the temperance-focused association. The initiative aimed not only to provide early meals at public events but also to foster a broader culture of temperance within the community.
