Publican Fined for Allowing Minor in Licensed Premises in Limerick

In a recent hearing at the Limerick Petty Sessions, Mary Anne Madigan, a publican operating on Dominic Street, faced charges for violating Licensing Laws on a specific date last month. the Mayor presided over the case.

According to the testimony provided by Constable Curtis, it was alleged that on the 22nd of the previous month, the defendant permitted a child of merely twelve years to remain within her establishment for a significant duration. When questioned about this matter, Madigan reportedly admitted that she occasionally employed the child to run errands.

In response to the breach of licensing regulations, the court imposed a fine of £2 and additional costs on Mary Anne Madigan. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to licensing laws, particularly concerning the presence of minors in licensed premises, to ensure the safety and well-being of young individuals.
