In a deeply saddening turn of events, Mr T. Lane, an auctioneer from Shanagolden, met a tragic end during his visit to Limerick. Mr Lane, accompanied by his wife, arrived in Limerick on Saturday after a successful auction. The couple checked into a local hotel, intending to spend the night in the city.
However, a sombre twist emerged the next morning when Mr Lane left the hotel early and did not return. Concerned about his prolonged absence, his family alerted the local authorities, prompting a search operation to locate him. It wasn’t until several hours later that his whereabouts were traced to the vicinity of Long Pavement station near the city.
Regrettably, in a distressing discovery, Mr Lane’s lifeless body was found in a dyke. The circumstances surrounding his death suggest that it had occurred some time before his discovery. The tragic incident has undoubtedly cast a shadow over the community, leaving questions and a sense of grief in its wake.
