The Rathkeale Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) held a moment of silence at their monthly meeting to honour the memory of Major William K. Redmond, MP.., who was killed in action in France.
A heartfelt vote of condolence was passed, expressing the members’ profound sorrow at the loss of a “sterling and true Irishman.” The resolution, proposed by Brother J. Hennessy and seconded by Brother T. Guinane, praised Major Redmond’s lifelong dedication to the cause of Ireland and offered condolences to his wife and his brother, John Redmond, the leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party.
Major Redmond, a prominent Irish nationalist and Member of Parliament, was remembered for his bravery and unwavering commitment to his country. His death in service of his nation has left a void in the hearts of many, particularly within the AOH, a fraternal organization dedicated to promoting Irish culture and heritage.
