CIVIL BUSINESS: Important Information for Entries and Appeals

All entries or other civil business, including disputes, agreements, wills, and various cases to be heard, must be submitted to the Crown and Peace Office at the County Court House in Limerick. These entries can be delivered either in person or by post. It is essential to submit them before 4 o’clock in the afternoon, at least two clear days before the first day of the sessions in each town. Please note that the count of clear days should exclude Sundays, Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day, the day after St. Stephen’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Whit Monday, and the King’s Birthday.

For entries (Form No. 23), applicants must affix stamps for the fees of the Clerk of Crown and Peace on requisitions (Form No. 22). Both the requisitions and the entry forms must be handed in together.

Requisitions for the entry of cases should be separate from those for defences and must be free from alterations. Entries will not be accepted after the specified deadline mentioned above.

Applicants lodging Notices to fix Fair Rents with the Clerk of the Crown and Peace are required to provide three copies of the notice. One of these copies will be supplied to the Court Valuer.

For appeals to Assizes, parties serving notices of appeal must promptly lodge an affidavit of service and a 2s County Court stamped requisition (to enter appeal and file affidavit) immediately after serving the notice of appeal. This is necessary for the Clerk of the Crown and Peace to include the appeals in the printed list of appeals.
