LIMERICK UNION NEEDS HAIR MATTRESSES

The Guardians of the Limerick Union will be receiving tenders for the supply of 50 (fifty), more or less, Hair Mattresses for the Workhouse. These mattresses are to be made of pure Irish curled hair and Irish linen ticking, as per standard sample available for inspection at the workhouse. It is essential to provide satisfactory proof that they are of Irish manufacture.

Each hair mattress should contain 25 lbs nett of hair and 32 lbs gross. Interested parties submitting tenders are required to lodge a sum of £3 in the office, which will be forfeited to the Guardians if the contract is not signed within 5 days of acceptance.

Tenders must be submitted to the workhouse before 12 o’clock noon on the 20th of this month, clearly marked on the outside as “Hair Mattresses.” Please note that the lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.

By order,
H.J. GUINANE
Clerk of Union
