A notable land transaction in County Limerick recently underscored the value of agricultural property in the region. The auction, held on Saturday, featured a farm encompassing 142 acres and 30 perches, as measured under the statute. The farm, owned by Mr J. J. Griffin and held in fee-simple under the Land Commission, was subject to an annual annuity of £97, in addition to Board of Works charges totaling £6 17s and £2 16s 5d.
The auction drew the attention of prospective buyers, ultimately resulting in a successful sale to Mr John Cregan of Shanid, County Limerick. Mr Cregan acquired the property for a total sum of £2,350, inclusive of associated fees.
The sale exemplified the robust land market in County Limerick, where demand for agricultural properties remains strong. The transaction’s success highlights the value placed on such properties by both local and interested buyers.
