EXHIBITION NOTES (SPECIAL TO LIMERICK ECHO)

Excursionists from Carlow, Birr, and Roscrea infused the Munster-Connacht Exhibition with Irish enthusiasm during their visit on Wednesday. The Reverend Father Slattery of Birr and Father Devaney of Roscrea were proud of their efforts in bringing these lively groups to the Exhibition. Their animated performance at the Main Hall, featuring Birr and Roscrea Convent children and the Kinnity industrial classes, delighted a large and appreciative audience.

The Reverend Father O’Donovan of Birr demonstrated his musical talents with a splendid violin performance. Father Barrett also contributed to the group’s entertainment. The warm reception extended to these visitors reflected the gratitude of the people of Limerick.

Directors Stokes and Gibson welcomed the group upon their arrival, while Director J. H. Scanlan saw them off. The contingent from the Carlow Hosiery Factory, numbering 60, were proud of their support. Their governor, Mr Molloy, exemplified the positive relationship between employer and employees, a hopeful sign for the Irish Industrial Revival.

Communities from Tipperary, Bansha, Caher, and Clonmel have demonstrated strong support for the Exhibition. Canon Ryan of Tipperary and Canon Flavin of Clonmel, along with Mayor Skehan, have played significant roles in this success. The support of Tipperary is essential for the Industrial Revival, but it is equally important to gain the cooperation of Kilkenny and Waterford.

Power & Sons, agricultural implement manufacturers, and Captain Otway Cutle have the potential to make valuable contributions to the Exhibition’s success. A gentle reminder may be all that’s needed to enlist their support. With the support of Kilkenny and Waterford, the Exhibition’s success will be assured.
