A curious event took place recently in Ballingarry, County Limerick, when a badger took residence in a farmer’s house while the family was away. According to “Country Life,” the badger had evidently slept comfortably under a bed without being noticed. The unexpected visitor was discovered the next morning while it was napping on the kitchen hearth.
None of the family members dared to approach the animal until a skillful neighbor arrived and managed to lasso and drag it out. Although badgers are more common in Ireland than generally assumed, it is quite unusual for such a shy animal to venture so close to a residence.
