The Temperance Movement Takes Root in Abbeyfeale as Town Plans for New Hall

Abbeyfeale, Monday – With an unusually large number of attendees at the Temperance Rooms on Sunday night, the Temperance Movement in Abbeyfeale appears to be flourishing. It is believed that the recent heartfelt appeal made by Rev Father McNamara (C.S.B.R. Limerick) on behalf of the cause has had positive and far-reaching effects on the local community.

As part of this growing movement, there has been a renewed interest in Irish culture, including language and traditional music. Members now enjoy learning Irish and expressing their culture more vividly.

Father Casey, the Rev President, announced that he had received a generous subscription from Father McNamara to help cover the expenses of constructing a new hall in the town, with the condition that an Irish class be established in connection with the facility. As the Temperance Movement gains momentum in Abbeyfeale, the society’s secretary has been directed to proceed with the erection of the new hall, which will further aid the town’s cultural enrichment.
