Abbeyfeale, Friday – The news of the passing of Reverend Father William Quille has brought sorrow and regret to his family, friends, and the communities of Limerick and Kerry. The announcement of his death was received via cable by Sister M. Brendan (Quille) of Abbeyfeale.
Father Quille, the son of Mr Patrick Quille from Clendarragh, Barnagh, had been serving as a beloved figure in San Jose, San Francisco. He was well-regarded by those who knew him prior to his appointment in San Jose. The timing of his demise, occurring shortly after the death of his cousin Reverend Father Kirby from Listowel, who had also been involved in the San Jose mission, rekindled the grief and sympathy that had accompanied that earlier tragic event.
Father Quille passed away on the 9th of the current month, leaving behind a sense of loss in the hearts of his family, friends, and the communities he served.
