Burglary Culprits Apprehended and Sentenced in Limerick

During a Special Petty Sessions Court held in Limerick last Saturday, two individuals faced charges brought forth by Sergeant Lonergan. The accused were charged with breaking into and stealing a quantity of underclothing from the shop of Messrs Carmody & Co. After pleading guilty, both individuals were sentenced to one month of imprisonment.

Sergeant Lonergan’s exceptional vigilance, in this case, deserves commendation. The burglary had been reported several days prior, and while overseeing his duties on patrol, the sergeant astutely apprehended a man in possession of a parcel containing the stolen vests and drawers. These items were subsequently identified as part of the stolen inventory. Shortly thereafter, the sergeant apprehended the accomplice of the arrested individual.

The successful apprehension and subsequent sentencing of the culprits highlight the effectiveness of Sergeant Lonergan’s efforts. His prompt action in connecting the stolen goods to the individuals involved in the burglary contributed to their capture. The swift resolution of this case serves as a testament to the dedication and resourcefulness of law enforcement in maintaining the safety and security of the community.
