Calls for Improved Train Service: Unsatisfactory Changes Cause Inconvenience

During a meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, chaired by Mr McDonnell, concerns were raised regarding the recent modifications to the Limerick Kerry train schedule. Mr W. L. Stokes, J.P., brought attention to the inconvenient departure time of the train, which now ran from 9 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. This alteration was deemed highly inconvenient for individuals travelling to Limerick for business purposes and was anticipated to have a negative impact on the city’s trade.

In response to this issue, Mr Stokes presented a resolution, which was seconded by Mr Kearney, LL.D., and unanimously supported. The resolution urged the G.B. Railway Company not to implement the proposed changes, emphasizing that they were both detrimental and unsatisfactory for the affected towns.

The community’s discontent stemmed from the realization that the altered schedule would cause significant disruption to individuals who relied on the train service for their daily commutes and business engagements. The proposed modifications were deemed unfavourable and inadequate, posing a threat to the towns’ connectivity and overall satisfaction with the railway system.

The collective voice of the attendees conveyed a clear message: the current state of the train service fell short of expectations. The hope was that the G.B. Railway Company would take heed of these concerns and work towards providing a more reliable and convenient transportation solution for the affected communities.
