To the Editor of the Limerick Echo,
Assembly Rooms, Bruff, 22.5.04
Dear Mr Editor,
The 5th of June will mark a significant day in Bruff as we raise the banner of freedom and embark on upholding the principles and agenda of the Irish Land and Labour Association. Our mission is to safeguard the toiling masses from oppression and tyranny while breaking the chains of slavery that have burdened us for the past seven hundred years.
The demonstration committee, entrusted with organizing the event, is dedicated to ensuring its success. The members of the Bruff branch expect that all county secretaries will spare no effort in rallying large contingents, adorned with bands and banners, to join us in Bruff on this momentous occasion. This gathering marks the launch of a new campaign to discuss the so-called Labour Bill.
The men of Bruff anticipate the arrival of contingents from the banks of the Shannon to the lofty peaks of the Galtees, where the rights of labour will be passionately advocated by loyal and determined workers. We wish to clarify that the meeting was initially planned for the 19th of June but has now been rescheduled to the 5th to accommodate the availability of six Members of Parliament, who have promised to attend. Our heartfelt thanks go to Michael Ryan of Pallasgreen for promptly bringing this matter before his branch and pledging their participation with a band and banner.
We urge the county secretaries to fulfil their duty. Bruff will not falter in extending a warm welcome to the visiting contingents. It is imperative that the rights of Irish workingmen be protected, enabling them to live in peace and happiness in the land of their birth.
Yours faithfully,
Thomas Mortell, Secretary
John F. Osborne, President
