
Limerick, March 4, 1904 – The County Borough of Limerick has issued a notice regarding the implementation of a Poor Rate on properties within the borough. This rate has been authorized under the provisions of the Local Government (Ireland) Act of 1898 and related legislation. The Poor Rate is applicable for the service year ending on March 31, 1905, and is chargeable to the Borough of Limerick at a rate of 25 shillings and 8 pence per pound.
The Rate Books containing the details of the levy are now in the custody of WM M Nolan, the Town Clerk and Secretary to the Limerick County Borough Council. Any individuals affected by the rate may inspect the Rate Books at the offices of the County Borough Council, located in the Town Hall on Rutland Street. The inspection can be done on any working day between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, excluding Sundays and bank holidays.
The payment of the Poor Rate will be due upon the publication of this notice. The rate will be collected in two equal instalments, with one moiety (half) payable for each half-year period. The Collector will provide a Demand Note, which will clarify that the second instalment is not payable until after September 30, 1904.

Additionally, subscription rates for “The Weekly Fumo,” a publication released every Friday evening, were also provided:
- One Quarter: 3 shillings and 3 pence
- Half-Year: 6 shillings and 6 pence
- One Year: 13 shillings
These rates include postage fees.
