
The Thomond Feis came to a successful close on Sunday night at the Athenaeum. The ballroom was filled to capacity, and the atmosphere was filled with immense enthusiasm. The highlight of the evening was the staging of Dr Douglas Hyde’s play, “The Bursting of the Bubble.” The cast included J. O’Connor as Magatly, J. McMahon as Fiov, T. Stephens as Traill, F. Stewart as Duidin, J. Wixted as Triall, E. B. Duggan as the Lord Lieutenant, Miss McDonaonpell as Fion’s Wife, Miss Murphy, BA, as the Lady Lieutenant, and Miss Glynn as the Old Woman.
Following the play, a concert took place featuring the prize winners along with performances by Miss M. Hanrahan, LC.V. on the violin, Mr P. Connellan as a Traditional Irish Singer, Mr M. J. Anderson on the pipes, and Miss M. Roche from Cork.
