Limerick’s Voting Power Revealed as Lists of Voters Published

The lists of Parliamentary and Local Government Voters have been made public and are now available for inspection outside the Town Hall in Limerick. The lists reveal the number of rated officers, inhabitant householders, freemen, freeholders, and leaseholders eligible to vote in the city and rural districts.

In the city, the total number of rated officers and inhabitant householders eligible to vote is 5,173, while in the rural districts, it stands at 1,538. These numbers represent an increase compared to the previous year, where the figures were as follows: City – 4,930, Rural Districts – 1,510.

Regarding freeholders and leaseholders, there are four representatives for the city and seventeen for the rural districts. These numbers remain the same as last year.

The total number of freemen in Limerick is 15, which is slightly lower than the previous year’s count of 17. This decrease is attributed to the passing of two freemen since the last publication.

These figures shed light on the voting power and electorate size in Limerick, providing important information for upcoming elections and ensuring transparency in the democratic process.
