On Sunday, the members of the St. John’s Temperance Society embarked on their yearly excursion to Lahinch. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, between six and seven hundred individuals decided to partake in the trip to the invigorating seaside destination. Regrettably, the persistent rain considerably dampened the enjoyment of the outing. Nevertheless, the excursionists safely returned to Limerick around half-past nine in the evening.
It is worth noting that the inclement weather posed a challenge to the event. Despite this setback, Rev. Father Murphy, the director of the society, and the organizing committee deserve commendation for their efforts in ensuring satisfactory arrangements were in place for the excursion.
