Under the organization of the Limerick Commercial Club, exciting hurling and football matches will take place in the Markets Field on Sunday. The contests will feature Clare and Limerick, with Cratloe and Sixmilebridge representing Clare in hurling against Young Ireland’s and St. Patrick’s, respectively, while Blackwater (Clare) will face the Faugh-a-Ballaghs (Limerick) in football. The first match is scheduled for 1 p.m., and punctuality is expected to be strictly observed.
In other sporting news, Limerick Races took place at Greenpark. On Wednesday, the weather was typically “moist,” as attendees have grown accustomed to. Despite a steady drizzle throughout most of the day, the Quarter Sessions added to the damp conditions. However, yesterday presented a brighter outlook for racegoers to enjoy the popular event. The racing was of good quality, and the arrangements were efficiently carried out under the guidance of Major Kenny, the Race Company’s capable secretary. The catering was once again entrusted to Mr Fitzpatrick of William Street, who provided complete satisfaction to all.
