Reception of a Nun: Hospital, Co. Limerick Lady Embraces Religious Life

A few days ago, in the esteemed Mother House of the Presentation Order in Cork, an auspicious event took place. Miss Mary O’Halloran, the daughter of Mr Michael O’Halloran from Hospital, County Limerick, received the white veil, symbolizing her dedication to religious life. The Most Reverend Dr O’Callaghan, Lord Bishop of Cork, had the honour of presenting her with the veil. Henceforth, she will be known in her religious vocation as Sister Mary Conception.

Miss Mary O’Halloran received her education from the Sisters of the Presentation Convent in her hometown of Hospital. However, she later pursued further studies at St. Mary’s Dominican Convent in Kingstown, where she diligently prepared herself to be a worthy follower of her Divine Master and a devoted disciple of the revered Mother Nano Nagle.

During her time at school, Miss O’Halloran was beloved by the nuns and greatly admired by her fellow students. In fact, one of her dear companions, Miss M. Leonard, travelled all the way from her home in County Meath to witness the reception ceremony in Cork.
