LIMERICK COUNTY COUNCIL: ANNUAL REVISION OF VALUATION

Notice is hereby given that all applications for the revision of valuations should be submitted to the respective County Poor Rate Collectors by June 1st. This will enable the officials to compile complete lists of required revisions by June 15th, which is the final date stipulated by the Valuation Acts and Regulations for the submission of such particulars to the County Secretary.

Applicants should specify the nature of the revision needed, indicating whether it pertains to changes in property boundaries, alterations in annual value due to improvements, deterioration, or other causes. These causes may include (a) dividing land between parties, (b) demolishing a house, (c) a dilapidated house, or (d) considering building valuations excessive, among other scenarios.

It’s important to note that the valuation of agricultural land cannot be increased or reduced; only the division of the area and value between multiple individuals is permitted. If adjacent and held from the same landlord or immediate lessor, two or more holdings occupied by the same individual can be combined.

By adhering to these guidelines, the County Council aims to ensure a comprehensive and accurate revision of valuations.
