Passing of Mrs. Frances Burke

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Frances Burke, the widow of the late Dr Thomas Burke of Killaloe. Her peaceful departure occurred on Saturday at the residence of her son, Mr W. S. Burke, on Clare Street.

Mrs. Burke was known for her amiable nature and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Throughout her long life, she maintained her faculties until shortly before her demise. Her passing was surrounded by the love and presence of her family members.

To our respected colleague, Mr Burke, we extend our heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time. His loss is felt not only among those in the journalistic profession but also by the many friends he has made in Limerick and beyond.

The funeral procession will convey Mrs. Burke’s remains to St. John’s Cathedral this evening, with the final burial service scheduled for tomorrow at 11:45 AM in the family burial ground at Killaloe, per rail. The memory of Mrs. Frances Burke will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her, as her spirit finds eternal rest.
