
The passing of Mr D. W. Curtin, of Brosna, Co. Kerry, a well-respected and popular gentleman, has left a deep sense of sorrow and sympathy among the community. He was actively involved in Irish political life, especially during the days of the Land League, and was known for his dedication to the nationalist cause. Belonging to a highly esteemed family, he lived a life of consistent Christian values and was a devout member of the Catholic Church. He recently returned to his native land from America, where his family now resides, due to declining health.
During his final days, Mr Curtin was cared for by Mrs. Rahilly at her residence, where every effort was made to ensure his comfort and well-being. The funeral arrangements were handled by Mr J. Stack, N.T., who left no detail unattended to, making sure that the funeral proceeded smoothly and with utmost respect.
The funeral was a grand and dignified occasion, attended by a large and diverse gathering from the counties of Cork, Kerry, and Limerick, a testament to the widespread affection for the deceased and his family. The funeral procession took place during High Mass, with a special Requiem Mass offered by Father Murphy for the repose of Mr Curtin’s soul.
