The Diocese of Limerick is undergoing significant pastoral changes, with several key appointments announced by the Most Reverend Dr O’Dwyer.
New Pastor for Adare:
In the wake of the passing of the late Dean Flanagan, the Reverend J. Griffin of St. John’s in Limerick has been selected to fill the pastoral role in Adare. This appointment reflects the importance of maintaining the spiritual leadership in the Adare community.
Administrative Changes:
To facilitate these changes, the Very Reverend Andrew Murphy, who has served as the President of St. Munchin’s College, is transitioning to the role of Administrator at St. John’s in Limerick. In turn, the new President of St. Munchin’s College will be the Very Reverend Father O’Leary, who has worked alongside Father Murphy for many years in the educational leadership of the college.
Deanery Vacancy:
The position of Dean remains unfilled at this time, indicating that the diocese is carefully considering candidates for this important role.
Induction Ceremony:
The induction of the newly appointed Pastor for Adare is scheduled to take place on Thursday, led by the Reverend M. O’Donnell, P.P., of Rathkeale. This event marks a significant moment for both the local parish and the diocese as a whole.
These pastoral changes underscore the commitment of the Diocese of Limerick to ensure the spiritual well-being and leadership within its various communities.
