Despite inclement weather, a captivating Gaelic concert and variety entertainment took place on New Year’s Night at the school of Mr John McAuliffe, N.T., Springmount, Abbeyfeale. The event featured a diverse program, mostly executed by the pupils of Miss Bessie McAuliffe, N.T. The audience, including prominent figures like Rev. Father Moynihan and Rev. Father Ambrose, enjoyed the captivating performances that reflected the remarkable training imparted by Miss McAuliffe. The stage and surroundings were charmingly decorated, and the children’s costumes added to the enchanting spectacle. The lineup showcased a mix of songs, dances, recitations, and dialogues, revealing a rich showcase of Irish talent. The successful event highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for Irish culture and talent.
