Postal Officials’ Grievances: Limerick Branch Of The Association Of Irish Post Office Clerks Expresses Discontent

At a general meeting held on the 25th of the month, the Limerick Branch of the Association of Irish Post Office Clerks unanimously adopted the following resolutions:

  1. The meeting expressed deep dissatisfaction with the actions of the Postmaster General regarding his hesitation to uphold the findings of the Bradford Committee. The members of this committee were appointed by the Postmaster General himself, with the sole purpose of investigating the wages of Post Office employees. The report of the committee presented the Postmaster General with an opportunity to address the concerns of the staff and seek conciliation. However, by not availing himself of this opportunity, he has significantly intensified the existing discontent among the employees. The meeting expressed concerns that the longer the staff’s demands remain unaddressed, the greater the discontent will become, making it more challenging to find a resolution.
  2. The meeting extended sincere gratitude to Alderman Joyce, MP, for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Limerick Post Office staff. They acknowledged his dedicated service and expressed hope that he will continue to show interest in their welfare in the future.

These resolutions reflect the frustrations and concerns of the Limerick Branch of the Association of Irish Post Office Clerks regarding the Postmaster General’s handling of the staff’s wage issues. The employees strongly urge the Postmaster General to address their demands promptly in order to alleviate the growing discontent among the postal officials.
